Ethos

We are passionate about the craft of construction and the beauty of detailing buildings.  We take great care to consider every aspect of a project focusing particularly on accurate setting out and the considered junction of materials.

Whilst some clients have a clear idea of what they are looking to achieve, many others have merely identified a problem or frustration with their current environment and some are merely look to explore options driven by a more general feeling that their lifestyle and environment can be improved through a process of re-design.

As a practice we believe that all architectural interventions should respond to the particular challenges of the site conditions and the client’s brief.

We focus on the architecture that evolves naturally from the site analysis of elements such daylight, views, human interaction and the intrinsic qualities of different building materials.

Our work aims to be contemporary, as a product of a particular time and place.

Any successful project results from collaboration and a good open relationship between the client and his/her architect.  We aim to guide our clients through the design and construction process welcoming as much or as little involvement in the design as they would like.

An initial consultation or interview with an architect is critical and intended to see if you, your project ambitions and the potential architect are a good fit.

We believe the best results come from the successful integration of architectural design and interior design and offer our own interior design service as an optional addition to our more standard architectural services.

Through previous projects, we have wide-ranging experience of working on listed buildings, varying from the historic to the modernist, working on the refurbishment, restoration and conversion of listed buildings varying from a Sir John Soane Church to a Regency Villa and a modernist Concert Hall.

We also have experience of designing contemporary architecture within the setting of a listed building.
